Pogie production is paused for the summer and should resume in the fall/winter.
Description
Our wintertime favorite! Slip these pogies over your trekking or XC-ski poles on your frigid winter excursions.
-
Magnetic 'zippers'
Magnets help keep the bottoms of the pogies shut while allowing you to use your poles or easily free your hands for intricate tasks. -
Two layers of 4 oz Primaloft Gold insulation
Primaloft delivers light and lofty warmth encased between a lightweight waterproof breathable shell and a taffeta liner.
You can secure the pogies in two ways: to your hands or your poles.
-
Secured to poles:
Insert the pole through the bottom openings and use the snap to secure them. Leave the wrist uncinched for easier access. -
Secured to your hands:
Put your hand through the cinched opening. Pull the one-handed cinches with your other hand to secure the cuff. Be careful not to over-tighten the cinches to avoid restricting circulation!
UPDATED 11/21/2023
- The shape is now optimized for better pole placement and more efficient use of the insulation.
- A snap has been added to improve use for those who wish to leave the pogies attached to their poles.
- The elasticized wrist has been replaced with an adjustable/removable shock cord.

- Weight saving options: To reduce weight, consider removing one or both shock cords, depending on how you like using the pogies. You can always add them back if you change your mind. Removing one shock cord from each pogie will save about 0.24 oz (6.8g), while removing both shock cords will save roughly 0.48 oz (13.6g).
Sizing
Sizing info:
Measure the length of your hand from the base of your palm to the tip of your longest finger to find your size. If you think you'll wear a glove liner under the pogie (we often do), measure with the glove liner on.
- Small: 5.5" - 6.75" (14 - 17cm)
- Medium: 6.75" - 8" (14 - 20cm)
- Large: 8" - 9" (20 - 22cm)
There is quite a bit of flexibility with sizing and a few things to consider when choosing your size:
- We recommend sizing up for XC skiing or if you plan to keep the pogies attached to your poles.
- If you're in between sizes, we usually recommend sizing up. However, if you plan to use the pogies without poles primarily, we recommend sizing down.
- If the pogies are too big for you, they will still work, but they are more likely to be 'floppy' and cumbersome when used without poles. Additionally, the magnetic closure becomes more challenging to open.
- If the pogies are too small for you, they may start feeling restricted, and the closure is more likely to open unintentionally.
- If the pogies are too small for you, you may be more likely to feel the edge of the magnetic strip, which can feel abrasive to bare skin for some people.
